Liz brings over 30 years of experience in HR and Learning & Development, including at Board level. Throughout her career, she has tackled diverse and complex people challenges, ranging from leading sensitive abuse investigations in the care sector to overseeing large-scale departmental restructures, implementing HR systems (HRMS), and designing robust Assessment Centres. She has a strong track-record in successfully defending organisations from multi-faceted tribunal claims.
Notably, Liz led an organization to achieve The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies recognition for three consecutive years, secured Investors in People Gold Standard, and guided her team to win regional and local Team of the Year in Business awards.
In 2012, Liz ventured into entrepreneurship, founding and operating her own hospitality company. Over time, she successfully managed four pubs, two of which won Best Turnaround category at the Great British Pub Awards. With a team of 50 employees, she secured high-profile contracts, including partnerships with major coach companies and event catering for concerts (e.g., Jools Holland, UB40), weddings, and corporate events.
Her hands-on experience in hospitality further enriched her HR expertise, as she navigated challenges such as complex TUPE transfers, theft management, recruitment in difficult markets, and a lengthy legal dispute with a major pub chain. It also sharpened her business acuity.
Since transitioning from hospitality, Liz has continued her impactful work by mentoring small businesses through the government’s Help to Grow scheme, offering HR consultancy, and coaching ex-offenders on business start-ups.
Liz’s broad expertise spans the public, private, and third sectors, making her a well-rounded and results-driven transformational consultant.
